A panel for Adobe Premiere Pro · Windows · 2020–2026

Stop
alt‑tabbing.

Runner puts stock sites and YouTube inside Premiere Pro. Find a clip, grab it, drag it onto the timeline. And when Premiere cannot read the codec, which happens constantly with YouTube, Runner converts it on the way in.

No email needed to download. No card, no trial timer. Mac is not ready yet.

17 seconds, no sound needed. Real footage, real timeline, one take.

The problem

You do this a
hundred times a day.

Every clip you pull costs the same five steps and the same broken concentration. It is not the seconds. It is that you leave the edit.

Before The download loop

  1. 01 Alt‑tab to the browser
  2. 02 Search, preview, download
  3. 03 Hunt for it in Downloads
  4. 04 Import into the project
  5. 05 Finally, drag to timeline

~90sper clip, plus the focus you dropped

After Runner

  1. 01 Search inside the panel
  2. 02 Drag it to the timeline
  3. There is no third step
  4. There is no fourth step
  5. There is no fifth step

~5sand you never left Premiere

What it does

Built by watching
editors work.

Every feature below exists because someone testing it sighed at their screen and told me about it.

Any site, not a fixed list

A real browser lives in the panel, so you are not stuck with whichever APIs a developer wired up. Use Pexels, Pixabay, Unsplash, or the site you already pay for.

Drag straight to the timeline

Anything you grab lands in a library beside your edit. Drag it in like any other clip. No import dialog, no file browser.

2K and 4K that actually import

High‑res grabs are converted so Premiere can read them, video and audio both. No silent clips, no empty video track.

Hover to preview and scrub

Sweep across a clip to scrub through it, exactly like Premiere’s own Project panel. Judge the shot before you commit to downloading it.

A download manager that behaves

Grabs in progress show up in your library with live progress and where they came from, plus a cancel button for when you clicked the wrong thumbnail.

Installs like a normal panel

One installer, then it shows up under Window › Extensions. Works from Premiere Pro 2020 through 2026.

Break it before I charge for it.

A handful of editors use Runner daily and their complaints have shaped almost every feature on this page. I want a few more. If you cut video in Premiere on Windows, you are exactly who I need.

  • You get  a free licence, for good
  • You get  features you asked for

Questions

The honest answers.

Is it actually free, or free until it is not?

Free while it is in beta. Testers who send me real feedback keep a free licence when it goes paid. That is not a marketing line, it is the trade I am offering.

Why does a 4K download import with no video?

YouTube often serves AV1 or VP9 instead of H.264, and Premiere Pro can decode neither. The clip lands on your timeline as audio with an empty video track, or is rejected outright. It is not only a 4K problem: plenty of 1080p videos have no H.264 either. Runner checks what it actually downloaded and converts anything Premiere cannot read, whatever the resolution. This is the part no other panel does.

Does Runner work on Mac?

Not yet. Windows 10 and 11 only right now. Leave your email anyway and I will tell you the day a Mac build exists, rather than making you check back.

Which sites work?

It is a real browser, so most sites you can visit, you can browse. It is built and tested hardest against Pexels, Pixabay and Unsplash. Some sites put their download button behind a bot check, and those still need a normal browser.

Will it slow Premiere down?

It runs as its own background process rather than inside Premiere’s memory, so a heavy page in the panel cannot drag your edit down with it.

What do you want from a tester?

Install it, use it on a project you are actually being paid for, and tell me what annoyed you. Bugs are useful. “This felt clumsy” is more useful.
